The Bulgarian Elves - BG Elves is an online community of cyber security experts and fighters against disinformation. All publications on the page are fact-checked and aim to reveal data on abuses that are of public and political interest. The community actively fights against hybrid attacks and propaganda.

10. Negotiating financing through Gazprombank and Vnesheconombank.

The Russians are considering options on how to build the gas pipeline as soon as possible by TMK and related companies. The most acceptable option - for Arcad to sign the ERS contract, and for TMK to be a subcontractor of Arcad, entails risks: violation of Bulgarian legislation, reputational damage for TMK, difficulties in financing from the Gazprombank.

A contract between TMK, Bonatti, Streicher and Arcad would be illegal. Already in 2014, the European Comission ruled along South Stream that it's forbiden one and the same companies to control the production, transport and supply of gas at the same time.

Why is there a lack of serious debate on national television?

One of our elves was supposed to have an interview in one of the national televisions, scheduled as a debate with a representative of the political party GERB. The party refused to participate. Another elf of ours had a detailed conversation with the other national television, explaining where and how Zobnin's emails got to us and how we decoded them. However, the news feed only reported that some elves had found the road map. And so far we have presented only FACTS

When did you discover/find out about the map?

Here we arrange the events chronologically:
1. InformNapalm contacted us on February 29, 2024.
2. On the same day, they sent us a sample of encrypted files.
3. On March 1st at 21:14 we opened the first locked file.
4. On March 2nd at 11:48 we opened 60% of the documents.
5. On the same day at 16:59, we found the remaining passwords from the initial InformNapalm sample.
6. On the morning of March 3rd, we created our Facebook page, with the idea that this moment had come, because of our work on troll networks.
7. On the 4th, at 1:06 p.m., we discovered the "Road Map" email, we shared a message about our discovery at 11:07 p.m. You can see a screenshot of our initial communication with InformNapalm in this post Facebook

Why now?

According to Art. 59 (1) of the Bulgarian Constitution, we have a civil responsibility to promptly report any abuses of particularly large proportions that threaten the national interest and sovereignty of Bulgaria. In this sense, we fulfill our civic duty. It is clear to everyone that one or another scandal has been constantly happening in Bulgarian political life in recent years, so practically whenever we had decided to share this information, it would have coincided with another political turbulence. In this sense, we consider any speculation around this matter to be an unnecessary distraction from the essential revelations.

Why elves?

We think it is important to remember that the world is full of capable well-meaning people who fight on an equal footing with all those who steal, cheat and destroy harmony. For us, the image of the elves personifies the civic power of each of us to resist lies and lawlessness in Bulgaria. Imaginary or real, elves are certainly nicer to be around comapred to the orcs (for example).

How are you sure the information is authentic/not manipulated?

The data archive with Babakov and Zobnin's mails is over 16GB and contains more than 25,000 emails and 20,000 documents, each of which in its meta data contains date, exact time and information about the creator. In the email inboxes, we found identity cards, foreign passports and other sensitive personal data, which conclusively prove that the mailboxes belong to Babakov and Zobnin. Any technically literate person would agree with us after familiarizing himself with the array.
